Reach the Beach
Each fall, Salem Academy kicks off the school year with Reach the Beach, our signature fall fundraising event celebrating community, connection, and belonging.
At the heart of Reach the Beach is REACH Day, when every Salem Academy student and staff member heads off campus for shared experiences designed to build relationships, strengthen community, and challenge students to try something new. Students hike mountains, explore the coast, take on adventure courses, and participate in other activities that, for many, may be a first.
These experiences are about more than a fun day away from school. REACH Day gives students an early opportunity to connect with their new teachers, reconnect with peers, build confidence, and create shared memories. It sets the tone for the year by showing students from the very beginning that they have a place at Salem Academy.
REACH Day is also just one way we invest in belonging throughout the year. Funds raised through Reach the Beach support experiences that keep students connected and engaged, including no-user-fee athletics and afterschool clubs, leadership opportunities, and initiatives that support students’ physical, social, and emotional wellbeing.
As our community comes together for Reach the Beach this fall, a team of Salem Academy staff and supporters will also take on a long-distance running challenge in support of our students and this work.

Our students deserve access to an excellent free public education. One that comes without user fees and provides students with opportunities to explore and pursue their passion in the humanities, STEM, arts, and athletics. Students need real-world, hands-on experiences through field study, internships, service trips, and more. Our annual fund supports these efforts and more, so that our students have the opportunities they deserve to prepare for the future and shine.
The Salem Academy Charter School Foundation is an exempt organization as described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code registered with the tax ID#83-0368169. Contributions to Salem Academy are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. The school’s fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends June 30 each year. Gifts are credited to the fiscal year in which they are received.

We believe that every student deserves to start the school year feeling connected, confident, and supported. At Salem Academy, Reach the Beach and REACH Day are how we bring that belief to life. While a team of staff and supporters runs 200 miles across New Hampshire in the Reach the Beach relay, every student embarks on a day of team-building and wellness-focused field trips designed to promote leadership, community, and whole-student development.
